Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great weekend! I had lots of family time and pool time, which was just what I needed. I’m finally tan this summer which is wonderful, because the past few summers I’ve just stayed inside and remained pale. I have a friend in my apartment complex who I go to the pool with all the time, so between that, my beach trip, and a few other pool days, my typical summer tan is back! That was my goal for the summer. So now since it’s only July I guess I should dream another dream. Or I could just buy another book to read at the pool.

When I ordered this top from Lyon + Post, I wasn’t really sure if I would like it or not. But once it arrived, I knew I had to keep it! I tried it on with white jeans, regular skinny jeans, and my cobalt chinos, and it looked great with all three! I always like to buy pieces that I can pair with multiple different things- it makes your purchases more valuable! The bright red color of this top is perfect for summer, and it reminds me of this really delicious watermelon sherbet I used to get from Baskin & Robbins as a child, and also a couple of weeks ago. True story: they built a Baskin & Robbins right by my apartment, so obviously I went to get ice cream, and I had to go inside to see what flavors they had, because I can’t just blindly order from the drive through. I was alone, wearing a very large sorority tee and Norts, and my hair was piled on top of my head because I had been at the pool all day. I waltzed up to the counter, saw they had the watermelon sherbet (it has candy seeds, THE BEST), freaked out because “I haven’t had that in years!” (yes I said that to the high-school girl working the counter- she did not care), and then asked for a lid, which was when everyone realized that yes, this girl just came to get ice cream by herself. I am truly living my best life.
Here’s a photo of me being the hair flip emoji girl and living my best life/sweating to death at The Waterway. If you think you may not be able to handle this Monday, just strike this pose and keep on keeping on. That’s what I usually do.
