Happy Friday! After a four day week last week, a full week was kind of difficult. I vote we just make the work week Tuesday-Thursday and call it good enough. Anyways, I’m happy the weekend is finally here! It’s my friend Megan’s birthday today (Happy Birthday Meg!) and we’re going to dinner to celebrate! I’m planning on wearing this top (except mine is red) with these earrings (1. I 50% bought these specifically to wear with that top, 2. They are on sale for $22 right meow), because it’s a fiesta and I like to coordinate with the theme. Then on Saturday I’m going to College Station for part of the Big Announcement That I Can’t Share Yet! So another busy but exciting weekend is here! Here’s what I’ve been loving this week:
1. Emily Ley’s April Spotify Playlist
Ever since I read her book, Grace Not Perfection, Emily Ley has become one of my role models. She just seems like a wonderful businesswoman, mom, and wife who loves Jesus and I want to be just like her one day. But anyways, apparently she shares monthly playlists on Spotify, and her April playlist is fabulous! It’s a great mix of a little bit of everything, so it’s perfect to listen to at work or on the road.
2. Kinsley Armelle Chandy Earrings
How cute are these Kinsley Armelle Chandy earrings? Tassel earrings are my shopping weakness as of late, so since I have been wanting white tassels for a while and these are fairly affordable ($28!), I may just have to get them. They also come in black, and you can get 15% off with my code KMOSS15. You know how I love to be twins with all of you. Whoever you are.
3. Goodnight Macaroon
Okay so this isn’t something I’ve been “loving” this week, but in the spirit of transparency I just thought I’d share. Plus I don’t want the same thing to happen to any of you. I’ve seen quite a few of my favorite bloggers wearing clothing from Goodnight Macaroon. It always appears well-made and on-trend, but all the pieces I’ve wanted have always been a little more money than I’m comfortable spending on a single item of clothing (I literally don’t buy anything unless it’s on sale, unless it’s an impulse buy, then there are no rules). Well, they were having a “flash sale” a few weeks ago, and there was this one top that I was in love with. And I needed it. And it was still nearly $40 but I was feeling really great about my financial situation so I was like YOLO and even bought another top for nearly $40. With shipping I spent $90. At first I was thinking, “what have you done”, but then I told myself that they were going to be really high-quality pieces that I could get a lot of wear out of this spring & summer. First of all, it took nearly three weeks to ship to me, after the website said 7-16 business days. But I mean, patience is a virtue, plus they were going to be worth the wait, right? Wrong. They are so cheaply made, they don’t even have tags in them, and one top was advertised as 100% cotton on the website but is actually mostly polyester. They’re very thin and I’m not even sure they will survive a wash. They’re also final sale, so I can’t return them. Now, had I ordered these from SheIn for about $12 each, I wouldn’t have a problem with the quality, because you get what you pay for. Like everyone else, I work hard for my money and try to spend it wisely, so it’s frustrating to pay for one thing and get another. I did some research, and apparently quite a few other people have had this issue as well. I’m not the type to write scathing reviews of anything (it’s my job to respond to negative reviews at work, so I know it’s frustrating for the company to deal with), but I just don’t want this to happen to any of you! The top above is Goodnight Macaroon and it’s cute, but not worth $40, so I’m not even going to link to it. You can find similar options here and here!
4. GIF of the Week
Southern Charm has graced my television once again, and I’m about as excited as Cameran is about those nuggs. Also yes, now that I live alone again literally all I do is blog and watch trash tv. And it’s just as glorious as it sounds.
That’s all for meow! I hope everyone has a great weekend!
